For Memorial Day-
If having guests or for your family and even is just for yourself if you want to do the traditional Memorial Day BBQ or foods. Here are a few tips to make it easy and fun.
You can do some of these tips the night before or morning of:
Place corn on the cob in seal-lock bags ready to grill or steam.
Place Cole Slaw in a plastic covered container - same with potato salad, and store in fridge. When ready to use just pop off the lid and serve in container.
Same with Sauerkraut. You can heat it up in the microwave-safe container and serve it in the container as well.
Place frankfurters in a seal lock bag or container, ready to use on the grill or boil.
If you don't have time to clean and prepare raw chicken for the grill, just purchase a couple rotisserie ones and break apart to put on the grill just long enough to give it a BBQ flavor. Or have it as is if not using a BBQ.
Use patriotic paper plates or just red and blue ones, or white paper places and blue and white paper napkins. Whatever is more affordable. No washing dishes afterwards.
Buy some red. white and blue items for a simple dessert, like berries and marshmallows for berry kabobs, or purchase some red, white and blue pastries. A boxed cake mix spread with white frosting and sprinkled with red, white and blue sprinkles is easy and economical compared to purchasing a ready-made one.
Treat yourself to some red, white and blue flowers, if you are alone, to brighten your day. Or if in company, to brighten the table.
Place a flag, however big or small on your lawn, in the window or in a planter outside to honor the holiday meaning.
